Hey hey, it’s Ali 👋 – Happy New Year! I’m back with a very exciting update! Click here to update.
Also, big news: SigmaOS is a finalist for Best Designed Product in 2022. 🏆
This is huge for us, and we’d love your support to take the trophy home!
Give me Space 🪐
We designed SigmaOS shortcuts to be both fast to use and fast to learn.
So today, we’re making a few changes to how it works – first, starting with the most important action: opening the Lazy Search.
To open it, just hit space. It’s the easiest, most accessible key on your keyboard – tying it to the most important action on your browser just makes sense.
Lazy Search Shortcuts 101:
🪐 space opens the Lazy Search
⚡️ Q opens the Lazy Search in a temporary Quick workspace for ephemeral searches
✂️ shift-space allows you to open pages in the split screen
⬇️ option-space replaces the current page
SigmaOS Preferences ⚙️
A single place to view all your SigmaOS Preferences?
The new Preferences Panel achieves exactly that, and allows you to find out about everything that’s customizable in the app.
Customizing Shortcuts ⌨️
We believe that traditional browser shortcuts need an update.
However, we do understand that some of you might be having a difficult time because you use a different keyboard layout, or have a very specific set-up.
Just use insert mode hold globe 🔮
What haunts you at night? For me, it’s “how do we make single-key shortcuts work in a browser?”.
By default, if there is a conflict with the website, SigmaOS shortcuts are preferred (opposite in focus mode).
So here’s what’s new: just hold the globe (fn) key to temporarily swap the priority. Easy.
